Book Printing

Bulk book, study-material and booklet printing for institutes, coaching centres, authors and students. A4/A5, black & white or colour, delivered across India.

Book printing is the core of what Malka Xerox Centre does today. From our workshop at Shop No.-10, Yadav Market, Near FI Plaza, Chandganj Kapoorthala, Lucknow, we print study material for coaching centres, course readers and lab manuals for colleges, prospectuses and annual reports for institutes, and short-run books for authors and publishers — and we courier the finished books anywhere in India.

Everything starts with a print-ready PDF. Share it on WhatsApp or email with the number of copies, the size you want (A4 is standard for study material, A5 for pocket books and question banks), and whether the inside pages are black and white or colour. We confirm the page count and paper, send a quote that already includes courier to your city, and share a digital proof. For larger institutional runs we can print and courier a single sample copy before the full batch so your team can check it in hand.

Coaching centres usually order complete study packages at the start of a session and then test series, practice sheets and solution booklets in cycles through the year. We keep your file on record so repeat batches match the first one exactly, pack cartons by batch, subject and module, and issue a GST invoice for every order. There is no fixed minimum quantity: a student can print a single copy of a project or a self-published manuscript, and per-copy pricing improves as the quantity goes up.

Printed books can be finished with any binding we offer — spiral for notes that need to lie flat, perfect (paperback) binding with a laminated printed cover for study books and question banks, hard binding with spine lettering for theses and records, or saddle stitching for thin booklets. We have been printing in Kapoorthala since 2013, serve Lucknow institutes with same-city delivery or counter pickup, and courier to Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India. Message us on WhatsApp with your PDF and quantity for a quote.

Questions

Book Printing: frequently asked questions

How much does book printing cost?+
It depends on page count, trim size, black & white or colour pages, paper, binding and quantity. The per-copy price drops steeply as the run grows. Send the PDF, page count and quantity on WhatsApp and you will have an exact quote, usually the same day.
Can I print just one copy of my book?+
Yes. There is no minimum. Many authors start with a single proof copy, then order 20, 50 or 100 once they are happy, and reorder later because we keep the file on record.
What is the minimum quantity for bulk book printing?+
None is fixed. Per-copy pricing improves at roughly 50, 100 and 500 copies, so share the full run when you ask for a quote. Bulk runs for publishers, institutes and coaching centres are packed in sealed cartons by title or batch.
How long does book printing take?+
Most runs are printed and bound within 2 to 5 working days after proof approval. In Lucknow you can collect from the counter or have same-city delivery; elsewhere in India add 1 to 6 working days for courier. Urgent single copies can often be done faster.
Which paper is used for printing a book?+
70 to 80 gsm paper for black & white inside pages, 100 to 130 gsm art paper for colour pages and photographs, and 250 to 300 gsm laminated art card for covers. We recommend the combination based on how the book will be used.
What is the standard book size in India?+
A5 (148 x 210 mm) for novels, poetry and study books; A4 for textbooks, manuals and records; 5.5 x 8.5 inch and 6 x 9 inch for self-published books matching online platforms. Custom trim sizes are available.
Can you print colour pages inside the book?+
Yes. Books can be fully colour, fully black & white, or mixed, with colour sections for diagrams and photographs and black & white text elsewhere to keep the cost down.
What file format should I send for printing?+
A print-ready PDF with fonts embedded: inside pages at the final trim size and a separate cover PDF with 3 mm bleed, images at 300 dpi. A Word file is fine too; we convert it and show you a proof first.
Can you print my cover design with the spine and ISBN barcode?+
Yes. We print the cover exactly as supplied, including spine text and barcode, and we calculate the spine width from the page count and paper so your designer has the exact cover dimensions.
Will I see a proof before printing?+
Always. A digital proof on every order, and a physical sample copy before a bulk run if you want one. Nothing is printed in quantity until you approve.
How do I get an ISBN for my book in India?+
ISBNs are issued free by the Raja Rammohun Roy National Agency (Ministry of Education) through its online portal. Register, apply for the title, and the number usually arrives within a few weeks. We print the barcode you supply; we do not issue ISBNs.
Do I need an ISBN to print a book?+
No. Only books sold through bookshops, distributors or online marketplaces need one. Private, family, student, institute and company books are printed without any ISBN.
Do you print books in Hindi, Urdu and regional languages?+
Yes. Any script prints exactly as it appears in your PDF when the fonts are embedded, including Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia and Assamese.
Is digital printing or offset printing better for my book?+
For short and medium runs, digital printing keeps the per-copy cost sensible from a single copy upwards and every copy is identical. For very large runs we will tell you honestly if offset printing would work out cheaper for you.
Can I reorder more copies later?+
Yes. We keep your files on record, so a reprint of 10 or 1,000 copies matches the first run. Just send the quantity on WhatsApp.
Do you print coaching study material, test series and question banks?+
Yes. Modules, practice sheets, test booklets, solution books and question banks are printed by batch, perfect or spiral bound, packed by subject and invoiced with GST. Repeat batches match the first exactly.
Do you deliver printed books outside Lucknow?+
Yes. Books are printed and bound at our Lucknow workshop and sent by tracked courier anywhere in India, typically arriving in 1 to 6 working days depending on the city. See the city pages for delivery times to Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Do you provide a GST invoice, and how do I pay?+
Every order carries a GST invoice from our GST-registered business, so publishers, institutes and companies can claim input credit. We accept UPI, bank transfer and cash at the counter, and confirm the payment schedule with the quote.
